Additional information

• The rafting experience covers an 11km section of the Rangitikei River and includes approximately 2–3 hours on the water. The trip begins with a safety briefing at River Valley Lodge, followed by a transfer to the launch point, and finishes back at the lodge where hot showers are available
• All participants will be provided with a wetsuit, helmet, lifejacket, neoprene booties, fleece top, and paddle jacket, while neoprene gloves and neoprene socks are available on cooler days
• All the rafting trips are river level dependent; if the river is higher than the safe operating level, the operator will not run the trip
• No prior rafting experience is required
• Grade 5 rafting is a genuine outdoor adventure, and conditions can be unpredictable
• Participants should have an average level of fitness and be comfortable with physical activity, as they need to be able to paddle and move around the raft. Enthusiasm and the ability to follow the guide’s instructions are also essential for a safe and enjoyable experience
• Guests may bring a GoPro on the trip; however, this is done at their own risk, as cameras may be lost during the rafting experience
• River rapids are classified using an international grading system that rates their difficulty and technical challenges, ranging from easy-moving water to highly demanding whitewater conditions. Kindly refer here for more information
