Additional information

  • Regarding vehicles: Tibet's overall reception capacity is relatively limited, and the formal tourist vehicles are relatively old. The vehicle conditions are not comparable to those in mainland cities. Tibet has a high altitude, and most tourist vehicles do not have air conditioning or do not use air conditioning (using air conditioning can easily cause the vehicle to move slowly, and the internal heat and external cold can also easily cause a cold). The Tibet region has interval speed limits for road travel (for example, XX kilometers of travel time must not be less than 2 hours), so the vehicles will randomly select stopping locations to get off the vehicle to rest and wait. Please be aware of this.
  • Regarding group tours: Individual travelers will be picked up from different hotels before departure, which may involve waiting for other travelers. Please be mindful of the time. Transportation will be arranged according to the number of people. If travelers voluntarily abandon the tour, the transportation fee will not be refunded. Luggage specifications: The travel agency reserves the right to adjust the itinerary and order of visits based on the actual situation, while ensuring that all attractions included in the itinerary are visited.
  • Regarding Luggage: Due to Tibet's high altitude, excessive luggage can reduce the power and maneuverability of tour vehicles and affect passenger comfort. Each person is limited to one 26-inch suitcase and one carry-on backpack. The tour guide will notify guests in advance to store excess luggage at the hotel front desk in Lhasa.
  • Regarding hotels: If single men or women appear in the group, the travel agency has the right to arrange triple rooms or shared rooms according to the actual situation, or the tourist shall make up the single room supplement for individual travelers joining a group.   • Regarding meals: Main meals are at your own expense. If you choose to forgo a meal for personal reasons, the meal fee will not be refunded. If you are not accustomed to Tibetan cuisine, you may bring your own food. During the trip, the tour guide reserves the right to change dinner to lunch depending on the situation, but the total number of complimentary meals will remain the same.
  • Regarding tour guides: This is a shared group tour, and the travel agency will arrange tour guides in the corresponding language based on the actual situation. If there are both native Chinese and native English-speaking tourists in the same vehicle, we will arrange bilingual Chinese and English tour guide services.   • Regarding tickets: Includes first-entry tickets to all attractions listed in the itinerary, guaranteeing a full tour. In the event of unforeseen circumstances preventing a visit, alternative attractions will be arranged in consultation with the visitor. Travel costs during the off-season are calculated based on annual winter ticket discounts. No ticket fees or price differences will be refunded. In the event of sudden changes in discount policies, no additional price differences will be charged. Tickets for the Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple require real-name reservation.   • Regarding procedures: Some scenic areas require a Frontier Pass. However, the requirements for obtaining a Frontier Pass within Tibet are subject to change. Therefore, it is best for Chinese citizens to obtain a Frontier Pass from their local Public Security Bureau before departure. Foreign visitors uniformly apply for one. Both Chinese and foreign tourists can sign up for our group tours. Taiwanese and foreign tourists need to apply for a Tibet Travel Permit in advance.
  • Regarding pick-up and drop-off: If tourists need to arrive in Lhasa before our fixed departure date or leave Tibet after the end date, they need to pay an additional fee for individual pick-up and drop-off; if the flight booked by the tourist is not within the free pick-up and drop-off time, they need to pay an additional fee for individual pick-up and drop-off. This trip is a group tour, and guests with similar arrival/departure times will be arranged together for airport transfers, and guests may have to wait for up to about 2 hours. One day in advance, staff or sales personnel will confirm the pick-up time with tourists. If tourists are unwilling to wait, they can notify the travel agency one day in advance to arrange individual pick-up and drop-off at their own expense.

Tourists must bring the original of their valid ID before the visit. It is important to get good sleep and avoid staying up late for 2-3 days before entering Tibet to minimize discomfort upon arrival. Tourists with psychological concerns can take NORDICOM, Gaoyuan'an, or Rhodiola Rosea 6-7 days in advance (during the hot months of July and August, reduce or discontinue use if discomfort occurs). On the day of entering Tibet, continue taking Gaoyuan'an, Rhodiola Rosea, etc., which have no side effects. In severe cases, seek medical attention for intravenous drips and oxygen inhalation to quickly alleviate altitude sickness. Most tourists adapt within 1-1.5 days of arriving in Tibet. Altitude sickness is caused by oxygen deficiency, with common symptoms including headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, and insomnia. The primary factor is psychological, so please relax and do not be afraid. On the day of entering Tibet, rest quietly in the hotel, and avoid bathing in the evening to prevent pulmonary edema caused by a cold or increased altitude sickness due to lack of oxygen. Tourists without adverse reactions should also avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, and smoking to ensure the successful completion of the subsequent itinerary.
  • Speak softly and walk slowly on the plateau. Drink more water and eat more fruit if you have no adverse reactions. Eat only about 70% full to avoid increasing the burden on your stomach. Carry some high-calorie snacks with you (such as chocolate, beef jerky, biscuits, etc.). The plateau consumes physical strength, so replenish it promptly. Tourists who are in sub-health or have underlying health conditions should carry some American ginseng with them and keep it in their mouths to ensure physical strength and resistance. There is a large temperature difference between morning and evening in Tibet, reaching about 13 degrees Celsius. You must bring thick coats or sweaters and other thicker clothing, especially in high-altitude areas (such as Tingri, Mount Everest), where the evening temperature in August drops to about 0-5 degrees Celsius. Be sure to keep warm. Down jackets, thermal underwear and other warm clothes are essential. In remote areas, power will be cut off after 24:00 at night. Tourists taking adventure routes need to bring their own flashlights and toilet paper. Because Tibet is vast, the transportation between regions is mostly local tourist buses. On some routes, the time spent on the bus will be longer than the time spent sightseeing, so please be mentally prepared before departure and avoid feeling irritable.   • Traveling in Tibet involves long journeys, can be strenuous, and has significant climate differences, making it difficult for tourists to adapt immediately. Travelers may experience altitude sickness symptoms and should bring relevant medications and some common remedies, such as bandages, cold medicine, or medication for gastrointestinal discomfort. Tibet's economic development lags behind the mainland, and local infrastructure needs improvement. There are differences in hotels, vehicles, and restaurants. Tourists should be mentally prepared and understanding. Tibet uses Beijing time, like the rest of the country, but there is a two-hour time difference with the mainland. Corresponding schedules are also two hours later than in the mainland, and tourists need to adjust accordingly, especially regarding waking up and meals, using "Tibetan time." Please pay attention to the distinction. Although Tibetan people are generally simple and honest, in today's rapidly developing economy, variations may occur. If taking photos, please negotiate prices with them beforehand. Do not negotiate the price after taking the photo to avoid unnecessary conflicts.
  • For your safety, please do not leave the group or alter the itinerary without permission. If you go out in the evening, please travel with companions and be sure to return to the hotel before 12:00 AM to avoid affecting the next day's itinerary. The sun is strong in Tibet and the climate is particularly dry, so sunscreen, sunglasses, lip balm, sun hats, etc. are essential. Tibet is mainly inhabited by Tibetan people, so please respect local customs. When visiting temples, turn clockwise. Photography, hats, and miniskirts are not allowed inside the temples. When talking with locals, do not discuss political issues and do not eat dog meat, monkey meat, horse meat, donkey meat, etc. When Tibetan people offer tea or wine, try to drink it. If you cannot drink, explain sincerely and ask for their forgiveness. Do not take the presented Hada to dirty places such as toilets. Keep it properly. Because the temples and scenic spots in Tibet are managed by the Management Committee and are not under the jurisdiction of the Tourism Bureau, early closing or late opening often occurs.
