Activation Process
Consecutive Passes: Your Swiss Travel Pass will be automatically activated on the date selected during booking. No activation procedures required
Routes with Free Travel: No need to purchase a separate ticket in advance - just show your pass and passport/proof of residence when the conductor checks your ticket on the train
Routes with Discounted Travels: Purchase tickets individually (Online/ticket booths) and present your pass for the discount
Local and regional trains do not require reservations. Reservations are required on most high speed, international, scenic (Bernina Express, Chocolate Train, Glacier Express and the Gotthard Panorama Express), and night trains for additional fees
Access to scenic routes including Bernina Express, Glacier Express, Golden Pass, Gotthard Panorama Express, Chocolate Train, Centovalli Express, and Lötschberger (Please note: Reservations are compulsory on most scenic trains, and fees vary by trains)
If any amendments are required after booking is confirmed, you must first request for a refund and re-book with the correct information

Usage validity
The voucher is valid only on the specified date (and time if applicable)
Swiss Travel Pass is valid for 3, 4, 6, 8 or 15 days depending on which one you purchase. You will need to activate your pass and select the travel days in order to travel. Each travel days starts at the date indicated during activation and ends at 05:00 (Swiss time) morning the day after
These days do not need to be used continuously, but can be any days of travel within a period of 1 month from the first date of validity

Please print your e-ticket on A4 paper as a backup in case of emergencies
Swiss Travel Pass holders (non-residents) cannot add the pass to the SBB app. Simply show your printed or mobile ticket when requested onboard. Only Swiss Pass holders (Switzerland residents) can add their pass to the SBB app

Activation Process
Flexible Passes: Date selected is the start date of the 1 month validity. You will need to manually activate your pass and select travel dates to collect your train tickets
A purchase receipt will be sent via email as a PDF attachment. Note that the purchase receipt is NOT a valid travel document
Visit activateyourpass.com, enter your booking reference number (Shown on the receipt), passenger name, and birth date, then select your travel dates
Deactivate Travel Dates: You can deactivate the selected travel days up to 23:59 one day prior. Thereafter, no deactivation can be done

Free cancellation 1 day before the activity starts
Partial refund rules: Cancellations after the activity date incur a 15% penalty and CHF 10 fee, and apply only to unused, unactivated passes due to valid force majeure reasons. Proof of non-travel (documents showing you were unable to use the Swiss Travel Pass) is required and subject to merchant approval. Processing may take time, and a refund is not guaranteed
