• Gathering and Reception: After registration and payment at Itoya Chochin Shop, gather at Itoya Workshop.The workshop is located on the second floor, so you will have to climb up about 10 stairs
• Making Chochin
• (1) Painting: Paint the design of your choice on Japanese paper
• (2) Stringing: Stringing a bamboo cord onto a wooden form to make a framework
• (3) Glueing: Glue is applied to the framework of the bamboo ladder
• 4. Stretching the washi: Stretch the washi so that it is evenly distributed on the framework
• (5) Remove from the wooden form: Dry the chochin quickly with a hair dryer and remove from the wooden form
• (6) Stick together: Glue the top and bottom of the lanterns together and stick them inside
• (7) Drying and attaching the wooden frame: Dry the lanterns with a hairdryer and attach the wooden frame to the top and bottom
• (8) Completion
