Due to obstruction by the Wangqing Great Cliff, the river's flow direction changes from its original north-south course to an east-west direction. After flowing for more than 300 meters, it is again blocked by the Danla Mountains, causing it to turn sharply from west to east, thus forming a semicircular bay known as the First Bend of the Nu River.
