- [Attraction/experience] 09:40, 2 hour(s) 30 min(s), Self-guided, Yufuin, Yufuin, nestled in the mountains of Yufu City, Oita Prefecture, is Kyushu's most renowned hot spring town. The twin peaks of Mount Yufu stand like a painted screen, guarding this land, while the morning mist of Kinrin Lake intertwines with mountain shadows, creating a dreamlike scenery. Stone-paved paths wind among old-fashioned machiya houses, and the air is filled with the warm aroma of coffee and sweets.
- [Attraction/experience] 12:32, 1 hour(s), Self-guided, 由布院駅, A must-do on your Kyushu trip: Take the Yufuin no Mori retro train, specially arranged for the most beautiful afternoon light, traveling through the essential section from Yufuin to Oita. Outside the window, greenery flows, mountain shadows are like poetry, and sunlight streams into the carriage; every frame is as beautiful as a movie. Just relax and feel the gentle embrace of the forest and wind.
- [Attraction/experience] 14:00, 30 min(s), Self-guided, Sea Hell Hot Springs, The cobalt blue spring pool is as clear as a gemstone, yet it steams with hot white smoke. Stained a dreamy blue by iron sulfate, its temperature is near boiling point, where cold and heat paradoxically coexist. It is the most visually striking illusion among Beppu's Eight Hells.
- [Attraction/experience] 16:00, 1 hour(s), Self-guided, Dazaifu Station, On both sides of the approach to the shrine, the fragrant aroma of grilled Umegae Mochi wafted through the air. Walking over the vermilion Taikobashi bridge, its reflection lay peacefully in the pond below. This shrine is dedicated to the god of learning, and students in school uniforms can often be seen coming to offer prayers. The shrine possessed a just-right tranquility—neither desolate nor boisterous, with the unique sense of ritual floating in the air that is characteristic of Japanese shrines.
