Itinerary

• Spot migrating Humpback and Southern right whales as they leave the cold, food rich Antarctic waters and begin arriving in Augusta around June
• The Southern rights have their calves close to shore while the Humpbacks are continuing their journey north to their breeding grounds in warmer water
• Augusta is perfectly placed to view these spectacular wild animals as they make their way past, often stopping off for a rest and play

Eligibility

• Children aged 0-17 must be accompanied by a paying adult
• Important: Infants and children must be included in the passenger headcount
• Free for children aged 0-2

Additional information

• Although not mandatory, it is recommended that you purchase accident and/or travel insurance before participating in this activity

• This activity is stroller-friendly and operator has ample space to store stroller during tour. Due to jetty limitations whilst operator cannot load wheelchairs. If clients are able to with assistance board, this activity is wheelchair-friendly

• If there will be no sightings of whales, you will be given a voucher to join another whale watching cruise for free, however we have a 99.9% sighting rate so we are confident you will see whales. On the occasion we should not see whales - a return tour is valid for 12 months between May - Nov and photo id must be provided upon rebooking to confirm identity

• This is very popular and peak times book fast, so it is advised that you book your seat 7-10 days ahead of time

• Tours depart at 09:45 and 13:15 every day
• After breeding in the warmer waters up north, there will be 35,000 Humpbacks and their calves heading south to the Arctic waters
• The whales use Geographe Bay as their last resting area before the long swim home
• The Bay also provides a resting area for Southern Right whales
• Additionally, plenty of Blue Whales were spotted last year cruising south after their trip to the Rottnest trench to feed. These giants where surprisingly close to shore and cruising at 8 knots
