The Grand Egyptian Museum Ticket

Important: Infants and children must be included in the passenger headcount

Free for children aged 0-5

Children aged 0-11 must be accompanied by a paying adult

Visitors must present a valid form of identification to confirm eligibility for free admission or discounted tickets

Free admission is available for eligible visitors, including children under six, visitors with disabilities, ICOM members, Egyptian students and faculty in related fields, tour guides, veterans, ministry employees, journalists (with prior coordination), orphans, and school groups, with validity varying by day and requiring documentation where applicable

Foreign spouses of Egyptians and their children are eligible to purchase the Egyptian admission pass, with proof of relationship required marriage certificate for spouses and ID or birth certificate for children

Bags, backpacks, luggage, or parcels larger than 40 x 40 cm are not allowed inside the museum and must be checked at the cloakroom. Visitors must also allow security officers to search their bags or backpacks upon entry or in any exhibition if requested

Knives, screwdrivers, scissors, firearms, other sharp piercing items or dangerous materials are not permitted into the museum

Do not bring umbrellas into the museum. Please leave them at the baggage check

Do not bring folding seats or any other type of seat into the galleries unless you obtain permission from museum security

Musical instruments are not allowed inside the museum

Animals or pets are not allowed to enter the museum

Do not bring any advertising banners, carry placards or signs inside the museum unless you obtain approval from museum authorities

Please do not touch any artefacts or showcases, avoid disruptive or offensive behavior, and keep your cell phone on silent

Audio players, flashlights, and laser pointers are not permitted anywhere in the museum

Visitors are requested to wear appropriate attire, keep shoes on, avoid lying on seats or the floor, and follow all posted signs and staff instructions

Students of archaeology, art, and design should act respectfully in the galleries: use only pencils for notes or sketches, avoid pens and large sketchbooks (over 46 x 62 cm), do not block other visitors, and be careful not to bump into people, display cases, or artefacts

Private photography and video recording are allowed inside the museum after paying for tickets, but please avoid photographing other visitors or staff. Flash photography, tripods, and monopods are not permitted unless approved for commercial use, which requires prior permission and payment of applicable fees

In emergencies such as earthquakes or fires, please follow museum staff instructions and, during an earthquake, stay clear of large sculptures, display cases, and other objects that may fall

Outside food and drinks are not allowed inside the venue

Smoking and drinking is not allowed. You will immediately be asked to leave if caught by a staff member
