  • In this activity, we will introduce one of Indonesian shadow puppet arts called 'wayang suket', to the younger generation. Ages ago in Javanese villages, wayang suket was a popular traditional children's game made out of grass. Wayang suket is made by folding the grass into the shape of the figures from the shadow puppet plays. It's also usually used to play games or to tell the stories of the shadow puppet to the children in the village. As part of Javanese cultural heritage, wayang suket reflects the life in the villages, where grass is one of the most common raw materials used by the villagers.
