How to get there

By car: Park your car at Marineweg 3, Alblasserdam for EUR 9.50. In 2026, the price will change to EUR 9.75 per car. Reserving a spot via Klook is not possible. There will be shuttle buses running daily from 09:00-18:00 to and from the entrance of the mill area

By bus: Take the bus line 489 (From Rotterdam) for 35 minutes to Kinderdijk

It is advised for visitors to travel by water. From Rotterdam, the WaterShuttle offers a fast and direct connection to Kinderdijk, with arrivals directly at the World Heritage site

For visitors arriving by car, the options depend on the travel period:

Low season (1 January-15 March 2026 and 2 November-31 December 2026): Parking is available at the entrance of the mill area (Nederwaard 1, Kinderdijk). Spaces are limited and cannot be reserved in advance

High season (16 March-1 November 2026): Visitors park at the transferium in Alblasserdam. Signage will guide them to the parking area. A shuttle bus (Included with parking) runs daily between the transferium and the entrance of the mill area
