  • You are entering a sacred site. Please observe proper behavior while inside the premises

  • Scan the QR codes on-site at Hagia Sophia Mosque to access the audio guide

  • Headphones are required. Visitors can bring their own or purchase at the desk

  • Disabled visitors or those with mobility difficulties should use the first-floor entrance, designated for Turkish citizens. They will have access to the first-floor prayer area only

  • The Hagia Sophia Mosque is closed to tourists from 12:00 to 14:00

  • Women are required to cover their hair, shoulders, knees, and chest (Scarves are available for purchase on-site), and men are required to cover their knees and shoulders. Tatoos and symbols should also be covered

  • The security line cannot be skipped and may take longer during peak season. Please arrive early to reduce wait times

  • Strollers must be folded and carried due to the historic flooring

  • Audio commentary is available in English / Spanish / German / French / Italian

  • Re-entry is not allowed after you leave the venue

How to get there

  • By bus: Take bus 36, 53A, or 71 and get off at the Sultanahmet Tram Stop. From there, it's a 5-minute walk to the site
  • By metro: Take Line M2 (the Green Line) to Yenikapı station. From there, transfer to the M1A line (the red line) to Aksaray station. Exit at Sultanahmet station, and then it’s a 10-minute walk to the site
