  • The Discover Kiteboarding course is a great introductory experience that will give you a taste and a basic understanding of what kiteboarding is like. You will learn the basic theory behind kiteboarding, such as identifying wind direction and learning how to fly a kite and harness the wind to generate power. The Discover Kiteboarding course includes practice on a Leading Edge Inflatable (LEI) kite, where you’ll learn the skills required to pilot the kite safely. Next, you will use your piloting skills to generate power and get a brief taste of the lift generated by the kite while in the water. If time (and skill) permits, you’ll do a quick body-dragging session in the water (piloting the kite without a board) to further experience the power generated by the kite.

  • The Level 1 Kiteboarding Course is meant to give you a full introduction to kiteboarding – from learning the theory and understanding how to use the kite to harness the power of the wind, to experiencing the full power of a Leading Edge Inflatable (LEI) kite. You’ll start the course with some fundamental theory on the beach before heading into the water, learning the theory behind kiting – determining the wind direction and how a kite works to generate lift and power. Your instructor will then go over the parts and how to set up a kite, important safety aspects, and teach the basics of kite steering. After the theory fundamentals, you’ll move on to controlling and steering the kite to generate power in both directions. Once your instructor is satisfied, you’ll move on to body dragging! It is expected you will crash the kite (quite a few times) – which is where you will learn to re-launch the kite in the water. If you think kiteboarding is for you and you’d like to give it a go with a board on your feet, you can sign up for the Level 2 Kiteboarding Course. But if you’ve got your heart set on learning and going all the way, take our three-day Full Kiteboarding Course, which will take you from a complete beginner to a competent and independent kiteboarder.
