This activity has no age limit
Important: Infants and children must be included in the passenger headcount
Free for children aged 0-4 when accompanied by a paying adult

Additional information

A full visit can take around 1.5 hours, but guests may stay until closing time
Please note that the doors to the facility and gardens do not open automatically, to keep butterflies from escaping the venue. The staff will be happy to help if assistance is needed onsite

The venue's temperature is between 26-30 degree Celsius, with a humidity of 70%
Light snacks and ice cream bars are available onsite in the gift shop (There are no dining options within the venue, but it is available in Brentwood Bay)
Guests can explore a 11,000 square feet tropical rainforest environment consisting of:
Thousands of butterflies from up to 70 species
Tropical birds, including parrots and a flamingo
Reptiles like iguanas and tortoises
An insectarium with exotic insects and invertebrate
Lush tropical plants, waterfalls & koi
Re-entry is not allowed after you leave the venue
Pets are not allowed inside the venue, with the exception of service animals with valid identification
Photography is allowed, but taking videos and photos for commercial purposes, as well as the live broadcasting of the show is strictly prohibited
This activity is stroller and wheelchair-accessible

How to get there

By car: Take Patricia Bay Highway (#17) north, then take Exit 18 to Keating Cross Road. Continue until it becomes Benvenuto Avenue at West Saanich Road
By bus: Take the bus line 75 from Ogden Point Cruise Ship Terminal to the Keating X Rd at W Saanich Rd stop, and walk for 4 minutes
By bus: Take the bus line 83 from Sidney to the W Saanich Rd at Kersey Rd stop, and walk for 5 minutes
By bus: Take the Gray Line Sightseeing Victoria Shuttle bus from 721 Government Street (Located under the red umbrellas, directly out-front of The Fairmont Empress Hotel), to the Victoria Butterfly Gardens stop. Return transportation is available every hour and this shuttle is offered daily from June to September
By taxi: Taxis and Uber services are readily available, cab fare is approximately CAD 40-55 each way
