  • Stop 1: Inuyama Castle One of Japan's five national treasure castles, the oldest existing castle tower, the White Heron Castle stands on a cliff along the Kiso River. One of the 12 original castle towers still standing, and the only national treasure castle privately owned.
  • Stop 2: Ena Gorge Observatory A columnar joint valley formed by the Kiso River cutting through volcanic lava. The lake surface is emerald green, and giant andesite columns formed 12 million years ago stand tall. Ascend to the "Ena Gorge Bridge Observatory" to see the "Byobu Rock" and "Battleship Rock," masterpieces of nature, reflected in the lake.
  • Stop 3: Magome-juku The 43rd post station on the Nakasendo highway, named for its resemblance to a "basket on a horse's back." Stroll along the undulating stone-paved road, through old townhouses, watermills, and unique shops, to experience the authentic Edo atmosphere and the former prosperity and tranquility of "Kiso Road."
