Overview

Embark on a Super-Jeep, Ice cave and Glacier walk, spend 5–6 hours with one of our experienced guides as you hike Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet glacier of the renowned Vatnajökull. This glacier is famous for its breathtaking views over the Glacier Lagoon. Throughout the tour, your guide will share insights into the area’s natural wonders and provide a glimpse into Icelandic culture. As you explore, you’ll witness the glacier’s stunning landscapes, including crevasses, moulins, and deep ice caves. Before stepping onto the glacier, your guide will equip you with all the necessary safety gear for a safe adventure. This experience primarily consists of visits to different ice caves and ice formations as well as a glacier walk, allowing you to discover the glacier’s unique formations up close.

Make sure you take part at the time you selected at booking, It's easy to find your guide, as we are positioned right next to the Glacier Lagoon Café. What to bring

Warm outdoor clothing, preferably waterproof. At least 2 layers underneath your waterproof layer, headwear, gloves, wool socks, and hiking boots.We also recommend you bring water and a light lunch, either a sandwich or some snacks (this can be bought in the cafeteria at Jökulsárloón where the meeting point is).
Note: We have crampons that are designed to fit shoe sizes EU 35–48 (approximately 22.5–31 cm). Children must have feet within this size range in order to participate in the tour.

Please dress accordingly depending on the day's weather conditions

We do not repay the fee if the client is late, or does not show up even if the weather is bad, in case we are able to do the tour.

Cancellation Policy

You'll get a full refund if you cancel at least 48 hour(s) before the activity starts
All cancelations of tours must go through our office by email to ice@explorers.is. We do not repay the fee if the client is late, or does not show up, even if the weather is bad, if we are able to operate the tour. Therefore, we recommend staying in a hotel or guesthouse close to the departure (Jökulsárlón – Glacier Lagoon). We have a 48-hour cancelation and rescheduling policy. We will fully refund your money if we are notified of the cancelation or changes at least 48 hours before the departure of the tour. We need notification by phone at +354 8663490 or email ice@explorers.is. If you encounter car-related issues on your way to the meeting point for your tour that are the fault of the car rental company, contact them for a refund. As we, unfortunately, are not responsible for the fault of the car, the car rental is.
