How to get there: By taxi: Taxis can drop you off directly at the valley station of the fortress railway. To order a taxi, call 0043-662-8111
The ascent with the fortress funicular takes about 2 minutes and runs every 10 minutes

How to get there

By car: Drive and park at the Old Town car park, "Altstadtgarage" at Hildmannplatz 1, Entry (Einfahrt) B. Follow the signs in the garage for "FESTUNG/DOM." From there, it's about a 10-minute walk to the fortress. After leaving the garage, cross the Toscaninihof and turn right towards the DOM (Big Cathedral). You will see the fortress on the right side of the mountain, Monchsberg. Cross the Kapitelplatz, which leads into the Festungsgasse
You can get your parking ticket validated at the evening box office at the entrance to the concert hall, allowing you to park at a reduced rate
