What are the opening hours for Busselton Jetty's train rides & Underwater Observatory Tours?

Train rides and Underwater Observatory tours depart hourly. During summer, trains run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and tours are available from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. In winter, the schedule shifts from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for trains and 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM for tours.

Where do I get my Underwater Observatory and Jetty Train tickets?

Head to the Interpretive Centre to collect your tickets and board the Jetty Train. You can also find everything you need for your day at Busselton Jelly, such as drinks, sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, fishing gear, snacks, and more.

How long is the Busselton Jetty Underwater Observatory Tour?

The guided tour of the Underwater Observatory takes approximately 40 minutes, enough time to explore the marine life and the artificial reef.

Eligibility

  • Children aged 18+ will be charged the same rate as adults
  • Important: Infants and children must be included in the passenger headcount
  • Children under the age of 15 years must be accompanied and supervised by an adult (18+) for the duration of the Jetty Train journey and the Underwater Observatory tour
  • Children under the age of 3 years are free of charge but must be seated on an adults lap on the train. They do not get an allocated train seat to themselves

Additional information

  • Tickets are valid for one return trip and can be used as a Jetty Day Pass

  • No Prams – Due to safety regulations, prams, strollers, or pushers (including compact folding types) cannot be taken on the Jetty Train or into the Underwater Observatory. It is recommended to use a baby carrier instead. Also, no fishing gear or large luggage on board the train or in the Underwater Observatory.

  • Due to safety regulations diving gear, fishing gear, large luggage, prams and strollers are unable to be taken on board the train or into the Underwater Observatory

  • You are recommended to use a baby carrier if you have one available. For an AUD 10 deposit, you can secure your pram to the jetty for the duration of your trip. Please advise the friendly bookings staff if this service is required

  • Re-entry is not allowed after you leave the venue

  • This activity is not stroller and wheelchair-accessible

Meet-up information

  • Make sure to arrive on time
  • Arrive at the meet-up location 30 minutes before the scheduled activity time
  • Latecomers or no-shows can't be refunded
  • Please arrive no later than 15 minutes prior to your booked train/tour time. The Train departs the Interpretive Centre (blue buildings on shore end of the Jetty)
  • Train seats are not allocated, they are on a first come first serve basis. There is no guarantee that your group will be able to sit together on the train
  • If you miss or do not show for your train/tour time, you will not receive a refund. Please refer to cancellation detail
  • Upon arrival please proceed inside the Interpretive Centre (the blue buildings on the shore end of the jetty) to check in for your tour and collect tickets

  • Arrive at the Busselton foreshore area at least 30 minutes prior to your booked tour/train time, as you need to allow time to find parking and walk over to check-in

  • You and all members of your group need to be checked in at the blue buildings on the shore end of the Jetty (Interpretive Centre) at least 15 minutes prior to your booked tour/train time

  • Peak Times and Events – Western Australian School Holidays, Long Weekends, Easter, and Christmas are peak times at the Busselton Foreshore. There are also many other events, Cruise Ship arrivals, and construction works throughout the year that can create congestion and reduce carpark availability.
