Get transferred to Wanaka Airport, hop aboard a plane and get whisked away to the drop area. Meet your expert tandem instructor, receive a safety briefing, get strapped into your harness and take that leap of faith. You will have three height options for your jump: 9,000 feet (2,743 meters); 12,000 feet (3,657 meters) or the ultimate 15,000 feet (4,572 meters). The flight lets you reach the speed of up to 200 kilometers per hour and after about a minute of freefall, your parachute will open. You may want to close your eyes during the flight — but try to keep them open to catch the breathtaking views down below as you fly over Mt. Cook, Mt. Aspiring, the Southern Alps, up to 6 lakes and the Clutha River.

Any person parachuting, training to parachute, flying in any aircraft being used for parachuting or participating in any activity carried out by Skydive Wanaka or NZONE may only do so on the distinct understanding that they do so entirely at their own risk.

  • Children aged 6-12 are permitted to skydive from a maximum of 9,000ft
  • Participants aged 6-17 require a written Parental or Guardian Consent
  • Children aged 16+ will be charged the same rate as adults

Booking limitations

  • Participants must weigh between 30kg-115kg for this activity

  • Participants must have a height of at least 120cm to join the activity

Additional information

  • A surcharge of NZD50 will apply if participant weighs between 95-104.9kg, payable onsite
  • A surcharge of NZD75 will apply if participant weighs between 105-115kgs, payable onsite
