  • 8-9 hour trek from Gorak Shep to Kala Patthar (5,545m) to Pheriche
  • Start early in the morning to Kala Patthar to catch the magnificent sunrise views of Mount Everest
  • Return to Gorak Shep for breakfast with an option to visit Everest Base Camp
  • After lunch, begin the descent to Pheriche
  • Overnight at Pheriche (4,280m)

  • Cross Khumbu Khola stream and follow the main Everest trail down the scenic valley

  • Climb the final 45 minutes ascent that takes you from Chheplung to Lukla, where you can finally relax after the rigorous adventure

  • This trek is of medium difficulty, a good level of fitness is required

  • This trek can be enjoyed any time of the year. However, the recommended hiking season is between Mar-May and Sep-Nov where the weather is warm and skies are clear

  • Both English speaking and Chinese speaking guides are available. There will be an additional USD200 surcharge per trip for Chinese speaking guides. Please indicate during check out

  • Your safety is of paramount concern throughout the trek. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the itinerary as stated; however, weather conditions, health conditions of a group member and any unexpected natural disasters can contribute to changes in the itinerary

  • In case of natural calamities i.e. political unrest, cancelation of flight due to weather, landslides, etc. any extra charges incurred will be shouldered by you

  • Accommodation:

  • You will stay in teahouse lodges throughout the trek

  • Private rooms are available at lower altitudes. At higher altitudes, the rooms are dormitory style

  • Toilets are shared, blankets are provided and running water is available

  • Majority of teahouses have cold showers, some provide hot water at additional cost

  • Some teahouses have electricity where you can charge your appliances (mobile phones and cameras) at an additional cost

What to bring

  • Pack lightly; the porter can carry up to a maximum of 25kg (shared between two trekkers). The porter will carry your belongings in a duffel. Please pack your belongings in a plastic bag or lightweight cotton bag

Sample Menu

  • Breakfast and dinner will be served at the teahouse while lunch will be served at one of the restaurants along the trek
  • Breakfast is included in both half board and full board option and typically consists of noodles, porridge, bread and eggs
  • If you have chosen the half board option, you have the option to select either a lunch or dinner. Additionally, you may pack your own food (e.g. cup noodles)
  • If you have chosen the full board option, meals provided are typically dahl curry and vegetables
  • Boiled water is provided at teahouses. Soft drinks, snacks and beer are available at the teahouse and restaurants at additional cost

Additional information

  • Although not mandatory, it is recommended that you purchase accident and/or travel insurance before participating in this activity

  • This trek is of medium difficulty, a good level of fitness is required

  • This trek can be enjoyed any time of the year. However, the recommended hiking season is between Mar-May and Sep-Nov where the weather is warm and skies are clear

  • Both English speaking and Chinese speaking guides are available. There will be an additional USD200 surcharge per trip for Chinese speaking guides. Please indicate during check out

  • Your safety is of paramount concern throughout the trek. Please note that your leader has the authority to amend or cancel any part of the itinerary if it is deemed necessary due to safety concerns. Every effort will be made to keep to the itinerary as stated; however, weather conditions, health conditions of a group member and any unexpected natural disasters can contribute to changes in the itinerary

  • In case of natural calamities i.e. political unrest, cancelation of flight due to weather, landslides, etc. any extra charges incurred will be shouldered by you

  • Accommodation:

  • You will stay in teahouse lodges throughout the trek

  • Private rooms are available at lower altitudes. At higher altitudes, the rooms are dormitory style

  • Toilets are shared, blankets are provided and running water is available

  • Majority of teahouses have cold showers, some provide hot water at additional cost

  • Some teahouses have electricity where you can charge your appliances (mobile phones and cameras) at an additional cost

What to bring

  • Pack lightly; the porter can carry up to a maximum of 25kg (shared between two trekkers). The porter will carry your belongings in a duffel. Please pack your belongings in a plastic bag or lightweight cotton bag

  • Breakfast and dinner will be served at the teahouse while lunch will be served at one of the restaurants along the trek
  • Breakfast is included in both half board and full board option and typically consists of noodles, porridge, bread and eggs
  • If you have chosen the half board option, you have the option to select either a lunch or dinner. Additionally, you may pack your own food (e.g. cup noodles)
