Intro

Kanazawa Castle, which was the residence of the Maeda family of the Kaga domain, began operation as a city park in 2001. We are working to pass on the valuable historical and cultural heritage of Kanazawa Castle to future generations, and to make it a symbolic park for the prefecture and Kanazawa City, along with Kenrokuen, and as a "symbol" that inherits the history, culture, and traditions of the prefecture.We are proceeding with projects such as restoring historical buildings. Hishi Yagura, Gojyuken Nagaya, Hashizume-mon Tsuzuki Yagura, and Hashizume-mon have been restored using the traditional wooden frame construction method, and the three-layer, three-story Hishi Yagura and Hashizume-mon Tsuzuki Yagura are connected by the two-layer, two-story Gojyuken Nagaya. In addition, along with Hashizume-mon, one of the three main gates of Kanazawa Castle, it is a facility to protect Ninomaru in times of war, and its solidity is demonstrated by its fire-proof exterior walls, which include stone droplets, lattice windows that serve as gun gaps, and whitewashed plaster walls and sea rat walls. The building itself is an exhibit, with features that show the internal structure of the building, computer graphics, various models, and artifacts from excavations.
