Sarnath, located just outside Varanasi, is one of the four holiest sites for Buddhists worldwide. It is where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment, marking the beginning of the Dharma.

This activity takes you to the two most important sites in Sarnath:

Dhamek Stupa: A massive cylindrical structure built in 500 CE to commemorate Buddha’s first sermon. The stupa is a sacred and serene place, surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and the ruins of ancient monasteries.

Sarnath Archaeological Museum: Houses the world-famous Lion Capital of Ashoka (India’s national emblem), along with exquisite sculptures and relics from the Mauryan and Gupta periods.

With an optional private guide, you'll dive deep into the teachings of the Buddha and the rich legacy of Indian Buddhist art and architecture.
