The route passes by the Zhinvali Reservoir. On the banks of the Aragvi River, you’ll see the Georgian fortress and the medieval 17th-century Assumption Church. Visit the confluence of the Black and White Aragvi rivers. In the beautiful gorge, there are restaurants where you can taste traditional mountain dishes like khinkali. Along the way, you’ll pass the Gudauri ski resort and the Panorama Monument to Russian-Georgian Friendship, located at the highest point of the pass (2,195 meters). Finally, visit Gergeti Trinity Cathedral, an ancient monastery standing on a hill with snow-capped mountains as a backdrop, near Kazbegi in Stepantsminda. Jeep transfer is available for an additional 20 GEL per person.

This one-day trip will offer you breathtaking mountain landscapes and introduce you to the ancient history and legends of Georgia. Our route includes the Zhinvali Reservoir, the medieval Ananuri Fortress, a unique mineral spring, and the Arch of Friendship. And the final destination, of course, is the monastery at the foot of the majestic Mount Kazbegi.

This is a mountain tour, so we recommend wearing sportswear and mountain shoes, as well as bringing warm clothing appropriate for the season.
