River Kwai Bridge is the most famous tourist attraction in Kanchanaburi with a legendary history. Board your own private longtail boat with local captain for a 2,5 hour scenic boat ride at River Kwai.

First stop is at Wat Tham Khao Pun, walk about 10 minutes uphill to reach the entrance of the underground cave. In this cave there are 9 chambers with various Thai religious sculptures, including a big reclining Buddha statue. Even though the cave has a bad smell due to its bats, it is still worth visiting this beautiful temple.

Next, we will make a stop at the original JEATH War Museum. Here you can learn more about the history of Kanchanaburi and witness the shocking pictures of the horrible experience during World War 2.

  • The cave of Wat Tham Khao Pun is home to bats, and has a pretty bad smell. At some spots it is also very narrow. If you prefer not to visit the cave, please let us know latest the day before. Please note that we are not able to replace this with another stop, so we will bring you to that stop which has a viewpoint and some lovely bars.
  • The boat has a small roof, but if it rains you might get wet. Please be prepared for this scenario.
  • Rain in Thailand is unpredictable and can happen anytime. The tour will continue in the rain if conditions are safe, and no refund will be granted. If conditions are determined to be unsafe, the tour will be canceled and you can reschedule or get a full refund.
  • The local Thai captain speaks very basic English, just enough to communicate about the tour.
  • Chungkai Military Cemetery is not a part of the standard itinerary and is a bonus if we can visit it. It is not always possible as it depends if the entrance is open, as it is private property.
