Experience the Cambodia of the past as you travel back in time, all the way to the 9th century, with this daytime exploration of the nearby Roluos Temples. Located only about 13 kilometers east of Siem Reap, the Roluos group of temples is the earliest site of the 600-year Angkor period that is open to visitors, built in the ancient city of Hariharalaya. Start off the tour with a pick up at your hotel, where you'll be brought to the ticket office in order to buy your Angkor Passes. Once that's settled, hop inside your very own tuk-tuk, an iconic 4-wheeled vehicle, and head to the first stop of the tour, Bakong Temple. Along the way, you'll feel the breeze blowing past your face as you take in the sight of the local residents milling about and performing their day-to-day tasks. When you arrive, marvel at the stunning sight of Bakong Temple, a five-tier stepped pyramid all made out of sandstone, with some brick towers around it. You'll then visit Lolei Temple, a group of four crumbling towers surrounded by a man-made reservoir that were built in dedication to the Hindu god, Shiva. Make your way to Preah Ko Temple, the first of the three temples built, with only a cluster of ruins left, bordered by the lush greenery of the forest. Take a quick break for lunch, at your own expense, before you are taken back to your accommodation. If you wish to add one more stop to your itinerary for an additional cost, you can also opt to visit the Kompong Phluk Floating Village after lunch, where you can walk around and meet the locals, and maybe even go for a boat ride!
