Depart from your hotel for Batang Ai Iban Longhouse and start an exciting adventure through the rural landscapes of Sarawak. Travel by van through pepper plantations, rice farms, and crowded markets, sampling local cuisine along the way. Board a traditional longboat at Batang Ai Jetty and cruise through the lush jungle to the Nanga Ukom Longhouse, where the Iban tribe's warm hospitality awaits. Spend the evening on the common verandah, performing cultural traditions and tasting local rice wine. On day two, wake up to nature's music and have a modest breakfast before venturing out into the bush.   • Experience the hospitality of Sarawak’s major tribe, the Ibans by taking a trip up to Batang Ai & staying for a few nights in one of the longhouses
  • A six-hour drive from Kuching to a jetty at Batang Ai, followed by a one or two-hour boat ride to the longhouse, depending on the chosen destination
  • The rule of thumb is that the further away from the city, the more traditional experience you will get
  • Limited access constraints to experience a local and traditional lifestyle in the longhouse
